IRAA is Excited to Announce the Appointment of Shane Drahm as Rugby Director

Shane has an extensive and impressive record as a former professional player, representing Australia in Rugby Sevens, the Queensland Reds in Super 12, Bristol Northampton and Worcester in England and Kubota Spears in Japan.

For the last 9 years Shane has been a 1st XV head coach in the Brisbane GPS Schools competition – 4 years with Nudgee College and the last 5 years at Brisbane Boys College – in addition to his role as Director of Indigenous Engagement at Griffith University.  Shane is currently completing his Masters of Business Administration at the University of Queensland.

Shane will be driving IRAA’s rugby programs and activities, including but not limited to the planning, coordination and delivery of IRAA’s player and coach academies; the identification of new player and coach talent; the ongoing mentoring of IRAA participants; and the management of key relationships with Rugby Australia and its associated provinces.

We are delighted with Shane’s appointment and its significance for IRAA in the successful long-term development of players and coaches across Australia.
